Papivo Privacy Policy

1. Documents, scans and OCR

Scanning, PDF creation, text recognition (OCR) and every PDF tool — import, merge, split, compress, annotate, sign, watermark, password protection and unlocked copies — run on your device.

Documents, page images, recognised text and folder organisation are written to Papivo's private application storage. They are excluded from Android cloud backup. Papivo does not upload them, and no account is required to use these features.

• Sharing or exporting a document happens only when you choose it, through Android's own share or file-save surfaces.
• Uninstalling Papivo removes its private application storage, including your documents.

2. Smart AI (optional)

Smart AI is off until you explicitly consent and start a request. When you do, the text extracted from the document you selected (up to 50 pages and 60,000 characters) and your question are sent over an encrypted connection to Papivo's server, which forwards them to OpenAI for processing and returns the result to your device.

Papivo does not store the document text, your question or the answer on its server. Page images are never sent.

• Processing is performed by OpenAI as Papivo's processor.
• A password-protected document is rejected locally and never sent.

3. Anonymous identity and usage metadata

To enforce fair-use limits and to bind purchases to a device, Papivo creates an anonymous account identifier. It contains no email address, name, phone number or contact list.

For each Smart AI request, Papivo records usage metadata: the anonymous identifier, the operation type, a request key, a timestamp, the model used, token counts and whether the request succeeded, failed or was released. Failed and released requests do not consume your allowance.

4. Purchases and subscriptions

Payments are handled entirely by Google Play. Papivo never sees or stores your card, billing address or Google account details.

When you buy Papivo Pro Lifetime or Smart AI Plus, Papivo's server verifies the purchase token with the Google Play Developer API and stores the purchase token, product and base plan identifiers, purchase state, expiry, order identifier, acknowledgement status and an audit record of entitlement changes, bound to your anonymous identifier.

Google Play also notifies Papivo's server about renewals, cancellations, refunds and revocations so entitlements stay accurate.

5. Advertising and consent

Papivo uses the Google Mobile Ads SDK (AdMob) to offer optional rewarded advertisements. A rewarded ad is shown only after you explicitly tap “Watch ad”. Papivo does not use banner, interstitial, rewarded-interstitial or app-open advertisements.

Watching an ad grants an additional daily allowance of documents and pages. Declining an ad never removes or restricts your previously saved documents.

Google and its advertising partners may process information such as your IP address, device information, advertising identifiers, SDK instance identifiers, diagnostics and ad interaction data for ad delivery, measurement, fraud prevention and related purposes.

Where legally required, Papivo uses Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) to request and store your consent choices before requesting eligible ads. Depending on your location and consent choice, ads may be personalized, non-personalized or limited. You can review or change your eligible advertising privacy choices at any time from Papivo's Settings screen.

Scanned documents, page images, PDFs and OCR text are never provided to Google AdMob or advertising partners.

6. Retention and deletion

Documents remain on your device until you delete them or uninstall the app; you control them entirely.

Usage metadata and entitlement records are kept for as long as they are needed to enforce quotas and honour purchases, and to meet Google Play's record-keeping requirements. You can ask for the records tied to your anonymous identifier to be deleted; deleting entitlement records also removes purchase-based access on that identifier until you restore the purchase.

7. Children

Papivo is a general-purpose productivity tool and is not directed at children.
